To celebrate the holiday season of giving and to mark our last meeting in 2014, join us in this networking and best practice sharing event. Gain an enriched understanding of fellow members’ skills and experiences and pick up some tips and tricks for training that you can put to good use in the new year.

Along with getting to know your fellow members better, we will also take a 21st Century Look at the Classic ADDIE Model. ADDIE is a tried and true framework for building effective training and performance support tools that may never go out of style. During the presentation we will examine the model’s five phases of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Participants will leave with a better under-standing, as well as essential practices and processes to make each phase successful. As the role of the trainer and instructional designer evolves, organizations demand more of your talent and time. Your trainees are required not just to appear in a training program but to maintain this learning over time. This ASTD Long Island Workshop reviews a variety of ways in which we as training professionals can make learning stick. This session will cover a series of case studies and challenge participants to use their expertise to develop solutions to common problems in maintaining learning. Grounded in theory and focused on practice and application, this program will help you master your professional capacity for making learning last.

Lisa Privett-Wood has over 30 years of experience in Human Resources working in the Hospitality industry. With the last several years in various corporate-level training and development roles for Marriott Interna-tional, Lisa has led market implementation and communication efforts, eLearning implementation and learning delivery, and has successfully managed many cross-functional and virtual work teams.

Lisa holds a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. She is a Learning consultant based in Long Island, NY, and is currently leading two global hospitality learning projects from inception to launch. The diversity of work, ability to interface with multiple levels of the organization and proven suc-cesses and improvements continue to keep Lisa engaged and excited about her work in learning and de-velopment.
